Ano Chora is a mountain village located 42 km north of Nafpaktos at the 1100m altitude, surrounded by evergreen trees.
Aitolokarnania, which covers a surface area of 5,711 sq. km., is the largest prefecture in Greece. The area is bounded by the Ionian Sea and in combination with the large rivers, the tall mountains and the big lakes, the landscape is breathtaking. Aitolokarnania is one of the most beautiful areas in Greece as far as its morphological peculiarities. The people are mostly occupied with agriculture, fishing and farming, taking advantage of what nature has generously offered.
The road to Ano Chora is tarred and at all intersections there are signs. During winder time, snow plows keep the road open, yet snow chains may be necessary in same cases.
